The Business Challenge has been developed over the last twenty years.

It was created to enable organisations to help their people understand some of the interactions between different parts of a business.

Over the last twenty years, the Challenge has been used as both a public competition, previously known as ‘The NBR Management Game’ and ‘NZIM Business Challenge’. Each of these competitions featured hundreds of organisations from around New Zealand competing against one another for prizes. In total over 4,000 teams competed over the years.

More recently the Business Challenge has been used by companies around the world to provide commercial & financial awareness for their people.

Organisations like Coca-Cola, Lion, HSBC, Standard Chartered Bank, OfficeMax have all used the Business Challenge as part of a graduate or talent development programme or as part of commercial workshop.
